Rental Application & Payment

Step 1: Rental Process

This information is intended to assist a prospective tenant in the rental process / steps to securing housing.

 

  1. View available properties on the website.
  2. If interested in renting, contact Landlord, Laurel Hays, via e-mail at haysrentals@comcast.net or by phone at 843-822-5695 to confirm availability.
  3. Download the desired property's rental application from below, complete application, and return to Landlord via e-mail.  Do *not* include your Social Security Number on the application.  Call Landlord to provide it.
  4. Landlord will complete a criminal background check, a credit check, and rental reference check usually taking approximately a day.
  5. Following review, Landlord will send prospective tenant and a parent the lease for electronic signature.
  6. At the time of lease signing, prospective tenant will send security deposit payment. For the Hays Rentals Charleston, LLC property, this fee may be paid electronically via 1) Venmo (@laurelhays), 2) Bank of America's Zelle (8438225695) or 3) check.
  7. Landlord will then sign the lease and provide move-in information closer to the move-in date.

Step 2: Complete Rental Application

Step 3: Pay $60 Rental Application Fee

Prospective tenants are required to submit a $60 non-refundable application fee along with their rental applications.  

For the Hays Rentals Charleston, LLC property, this fee can be paid electronically via 1) Venmo (@laurelhays), 2) Bank of America's Zelle (8438225695) or 3) check.
